MOSCOW – VLADIMIR - SUZDAL TWO-DAY EXCURSION

Dates: 8th–9th of October, 2010 Duration: 2 days. Suzdal retains the look and feel of a small village with streams and meadows everywhere nearby. Chicken and livestock is a common sight on the city streets, some of which are unpaved. Regardless of what foundation date is the most accurate, the city's most historically significant events occurred on the turn of the 12th century. Serving its original purpose as a defensive outpost for the Rostov-Suzdal principality, Vladimir had little political or military influence throughout the reign of Vladimir Monomakh (1113–1125), or his son Yury Dolgoruky ("long arms") (1154–1157). These cities formerly comprised the region known as Zalesye. |

TSARITSINO MUSEUM AND RESERVE

Date: 10th of October, 2010 Duration: 4 hours. We are pleased to offer the visiting of Tsaritsino museum and reserve in Moscow. It was founded in 1984 in the park of the same name. The estate is known from the late 16th century, when it belonged to Tsarina Irina, sister of Tsar Boris Godunov. Spend the day in Tsaritsino. There are a history and architecture museum, a landscape park with an adjacent forest, an art museum, the Biryulyovo dendropark, and a cascade of the Tsaritsino ponds. Enjoy the day in the 18th-century architecture ensemble which was built (though not finished) following the order of Catherine II in pseudo-Gothic style, after projects of the Bazhenov and Kazakov, and it is the only 18th-century architectural ensemble of such dimensions in Russia. |

It is the best known of kremlins (Russian citadels) and includes four palaces, four cathedrals, and the enclosing Kremlin Wall with Kremlin towers. The complex serves as the official residence of the President of Russia. |

The State Tretyakov gallery is a great art gallery in Moscow, Russia, the foremost depository of Russian fine art in the world.The gallery's history starts in 1856 when the Moscow merchant Pavel Mikhailovich Tretyakov acquired works by Russian artists of his day with the aim of creating a collection, which might later grow into a museum of national art. The collection contains more than 130,000 exhibits, ranging from Theotokos of Vladimir and Andrei Rublev's Trinity to the monumental Composition VII by Wassily Kandinsky and the Black Square by Kazimir Malevich. |
POST WARM-2010 CONGRESS TOUR

During the tour you will see the highlights of the city, beautiful wide river Neva with its granite embankments, large and small bridges, the unique architectonic ensembles such as: the Spit of Vasilievsky Island and Peter & Paul Fortress, the Decembrists’ Square with the monument of Peter the Great, St. Isaac’s Cathedral and Isaakievskaya Square, the spacious and majestic Palace Square with the best baroque style building Winter Palace and famous Alexander Column, the Summer Garden with its marble Italian statues and Summer palace of Peter the Great, the Field of Mars and harmonic Arts Square with Russian museum, Our Saviour’s Church in Russian style, Smolny monastery and Institute and, of course, Nevsky Avenue (Nevsky prospekt) - the main street of the city.
During the second day you will visit the Peterhof, which is located about 20 km west and 6 km south of St. Petersburg, overlooking the Gulf of Finland, an arm of the Baltic Sea. Peterhof is perhaps St. Petersburg's most famous and spectacular Imperial estate.
Peter the Great first mentions the Peterhof site in his journal in 1705 as a good place to construct a landing for use in traveling to and from the island fortress of Kronstadt. And in 1714, Peter began construction of the Monplaisir ("my pleasure") Palace is based on his own sketches of the palace that he wanted to be close to the shoreline. This was Peter's Summer Palace that he would use on his way coming and going from Europe through the harbor at Kronstadt. The major contributions by Peter the Great were completed by 1725.
Nowdays, the most impressive place in Peterhof is the Grand Cascade, located directly below the Grand Palace and featuring an impressive golden statue of Samson grasping the mighty jaws of the lion. The park's other cascades feature black and white chess board designs, Chinese dragons and numerous other features, as well as several joke fountains which are guaranteed to delight your children!
